Today we’re introducing Marie-Lou Penin, our new Head of Marketing, based in our Stockholm HQ.
Hey Marie-Lou! Could you tell us a little bit about your role at DanAds?
I joined DanAds as our Marketing Activation Manager two years ago and recently accepted the opportunity to become Head of Marketing. My main focus going forward is to drive growth and marketing presence for the DanAds brand, working closely with our entire commercial function. One of our top priorities in the marketing team is to provide cutting-edge research and best practices, so we can be the best self-serve and automation partner possible.
How have you seen DanAds develop since you joined?
A lot has changed and our ambition level has grown! We’ve opened new offices in the USA and Poland, as well as development hubs in the Netherlands and Uzbekistan. We also hosted the world’s first Self-Serve Summit in New York, where we brought together leading players like Disney, DISH, and The Boston Globe. It’s really been an exciting journey to be part of!
What did you do before you started this position?
Before this role, I was a globetrotting marketer with experience in the entertainment and technology industries. I worked in marketing across different countries such as France, the UK, and the UAE, delivering successful campaigns with a data-driven approach.

Where are you from?
Let’s just say that I come from the land of croissants, cheese, and wine – which explains my love for food! And, of course, I’ve got a bit of that infamous French je ne sais quoi.
What’s your favorite music?
At the moment I can listen to Rema, Selena Gomez – Calm Down on REPEAT!
What’s your favorite way to unwind?
Like spending quality time with my loved ones and furry kids. Being surrounded by their love and purrs will always recharge my batteries to the fullest.
What inspired you to pursue a career in marketing?
What I love about marketing is that it provides me with the perfect balance of creativity and strategy. The field is constantly evolving, and there’s always room to experiment and try new things.
For me, marketing is more than just a job – it’s a career path that allows me to bring my own perspective and skillset to the table. I love the idea of being able to shape how people perceive a brand and make a tangible impact on a business.
What’s the best thing about being part of the DanAds team?
The absolute best aspect of being part of the DanAds team is the camaraderie and strong relationships we’ve built. Whether we’re celebrating with clients, partners, or within the team, the atmosphere here is always lively and upbeat!
